I went to write a poem,
I had it clearly in my head,
but I didn’t have the time
The kids still weren’t in bed!
The dishes needed washing
Leftovers put away,
the towels are on the bathroom floor
and should be put away.
The Boy has lost his toothbrush
and his homework, too.
And now he says he has a project
And tomorrow’s when it’s due!
The dogs are running down the hall
The cat is throwing food
Baby Girl wants more milk.
Now Hubby’s in the mood.
The nightlight leaves to many
Shadows on the floor.
And suddenly there are monsters
Where there never were before.
Baby Girl is starving
even though I know
She drank at least 3 ounces
The dogs and cat are begging:
seems The Boy forgot his chores…
Speak of the devil and there he is!
NO, we don’t have s’mores.
The Boy is back in bed,
Baby Girl is sound asleep.
Hubby’s got the TV on
But he’s out counting sheep.
I can finally sit
And write this poem for you
But now I can’t remember it,
This mess will have to do!
